US APPOINTS INTERIM CEO

The United Synagogue is delighted to announce that former Vice-President of the United Synagogue, Stuart Taylor, has been appointed as interim Chief Executive as the selection process to find a permanent replacement for Rabbi Saul Zneimer continues. Rabbi Zneimer will leave the US after a short hand over period in November.

Simon Hochhauser, President of the United Synagogue, commented: "Our search process commenced over the Jewish holiday period and it rapidly became clear that we were unlikely to make a permanent appointment prior to Rabbi Zneimer's departure. We are therefore delighted that Stuart has agreed to take on the role of interim Chief Executive. Stuart's professional skills combined with his extensive communal experience will ensure that the business of the US continues on an even keel during this transitional period.

We are now commencing our interviews with candidates for the permanent role and Stuart’s appointment will allow us to continue the search process in a very orderly manner."

Stuart Taylor commented: “I am delighted that I have been able to organise my professional commitments to allow me to take on this position. I know the United Synagogue well and I am looking forward to steering it during this interim period.”
