ALMOST 2000 PRODUCTS ON OFFER IN 2006 KOSHER NOSH GUIDE
With almost 2000 products on offer, the 2006 Kosher Nosh Guide was launched today at Kaifeng restaurant in Hendon. Following the overwhelming success of the 2005 Guide, 80,000 copies are being distributed to young people throughout the country via schools, Hebrew classes, student and youth movements free of charge, in time for the holidays. A free guide will also be available with every copy of the Jewish Chronicle.
The user-friendly guide, enwrapped in a deliciously inviting cover, makes it highly attractive to everyone from 2 to 92. There are sections on confectionary, ice creams and lollies, snacks, milk shakes and yoghurt drinks and three new sections on Desserts, Diabetic Confectionery and Syrups and Toppings.
Rabbi Conway, Director of the Kashrut Division, commented that: “The Nosh Guide is a must for anyone who wants to keep Kosher. We are particularly pleased that we have now been able to include sections for those people with specific dietary requirements. We are also greatly encouraged that major supermarkets such as TESCO and ASDA have recognised the importance of providing kosher certified products in this rapidly expanding marketplace.”
Lennard Lazarus of Arram Berlyn Gardener said today, “I am delighted, together with ABG to support the Kosher Nosh Guide 2006. As a diabetic the new section in the guide is invaluable to me as well as informing me what I can and can’t eat from a kashrut perspective.”
Geoffrey Hartnell, Vice President of the United Synagogue, commented that “When ever I travel, the Nosh Guide is in my briefcase, as my waistline will testify! This is one of the great projects of the United Synagogue Kashrut Division.”
Florette Hyman, Marketing Consultant on Kosher Nosh Guide, said, ‘It has been a pleasure and a privilege to work along side Rabbi Conway and his dedicated team at the Kashrut Division. It was exciting to find how many people actually carried this little book around with them throughout the year. Next spring we are all looking forward to our joint venture with MACCABI GB, when we shall be producing ‘The Kosher Healthy Eating and Living Guide. We are also working on providing a texting service, where one can text a kashrut query and receive an automated response indicating whether a product is approved or not.”
